Piezoelectric Ceramic Components
Piezoelectric ceramic components are made of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) as the core material and polycrystalline piezoelectrics through ceramic powder sintering process, which are polarized to provide electromechanical coupling characteristics. The structure of the components covers single-layer sheets (thickness 0.1-1mm), multi-layer stacks (2-100 layers) and composite cantilever beams. The surface is plated with nickel/gold electrodes to ensure electrical conductivity, and the exterior is encapsulated with epoxy resin or protected by a metal shell to meet requirements like IP67.
Piezoelectric Effect
The use of positive piezoelectric effect (mechanical stress → electrical signal) and reverse piezoelectric effect (electrical signal → mechanical deformation) to achieve energy conversion. In ultrasonic applications, the electrical signal drives the piezoelectric ceramics to generate high-frequency vibration (20kHz-15MHz) to emit sound waves, and conversely receives the echo through the positive piezoelectric effect into an electrical signal to complete distance measurement or imaging functions.
